The Dock & Bay Beach towel is highly rated by customers, and we think it more than lives up to its reputation. Made from a microfiber material, this towel offers impressive quick-drying capabilities as well as decent absorbency, effectively soaking up moisture. Much like the Rainleaf or the Eccosophy microfiber towels, the Dock & Bay Beach Towels offer a degree of sand resistance that is ideal for the beach, and great for not collecting too much debris on hiking adventures.
One of our favorite things about the Dock & Bay Beach Towel is its extra large size, measuring in at 35” x 78” – one of the biggest towels on our list. The towel also packs down impossibly small into its matching stash bag, and weighs just 15oz when dry. Its large size paired with its portability makes this an ideal travel companion, as you can find a space for it even in the most tightly packed bags.
While the towel performs well in terms of quick-drying, portability, and eye-catching style, it may not offer the same level of plushness and comfort as some other towels. For those looking for a luxurious, fluffy cotton towel, we recommend you keep shopping – and maybe checkout the AmazonBasics Cabana Stripe Towel.

Sustainably Special
These towels do make us smile. They are bright and cheerful and we love the fact we are using 100% recycled material.
While we do admit that we prefer a fluffy natural fiber cotton towel when possible, on days out when a lightweight microfiber towel makes sense, this is a top choice. Let’s take you through why we think you should consider the Dock & Bay Beach Towel.
Construction & Design
This beach towel is available in many fun colors. It is an excellent choice if you like lounging on the beach in style. Unlike other cheaper options, the colors don’t bleed quickly, and it maintains its integrity after repetitive washing. It doesn’t easily fray, so you can expect it to last.
Made of microfiber, the Dock & Bay Quick Beach Dry Towel isn’t very thick, so unless you have soft sand, it may not be the most comfortable. It’s not fluffy, so you might not like the feel or texture. We did prefer the PackTowl Luxe Towel in terms of comfort. Being lightweight and thin also means it can be swept away by the wind easily (especially when used as a beach blanket), so you may need to weigh down the edges to keep it spread out.
As we mentioned, the biggest selling point of Dock & Bay’s Beach Towel is that it’s made 100% from recycled plastic bottles. You can feel good about your nice looking towel and keeping at least 20 plastic bottles from polluting our planet.
Size
This beach towel comes in 2 sizes, large and extra large. Measuring 63” x 35” and 78” x 35” respectively, it is a great size for beach lounging alone or together with friends and family.
Even though this microfiber beach towel is large, it packs down small into a matching pouch that comes with your towel. It is compact enough when folded down, so you can squeeze it into any of your bags. It won’t take up too much space in your suitcase or backpack.
Absorbency
The Dock & Bay Quick Dry Beach Towel is thin. It can only hold so much water, so its absorbency isn’t that impressive. On that note, you might feel uncomfortable using it throughout the day after lots of swimming and wiping down your soaking wet body. If you are looking for thicker or more absorbent options, check out the BAGAIL BASICS Microfiber Towel.
Dock & Bay claims that this beach towel dries three times faster than your average cotton bath towel, hence the name. Some users have said that it takes forever to dry. Though we are sure it dries faster than a thick cotton towel. If you’re in a hurry and have little time to leave it to dry, you’ll likely have to pack it moist and remember to hang it up later. When dried properly, it doesn’t develop a moldy or foul odor.
Sand Resistance
The Dock & Bay Beach Towel isn’t 100% sand-resistant like you wish your beach gear would be. It still collects sand, but sand doesn’t stick stubbornly on the surface. With just a quick shake, sand and other debris easily come off.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a sustainable and long-lasting towel that you can bring to the beach or wherever your adventures take you, you won’t go wrong with this classic from Dock & Bay.
Although this beach towel is thin and can take a few hours to dry completely, it has a couple of upsides. It is lightweight and easy to carry because you can fold it up and pack it into the matching small pouch.
Plus, our favorite factor! At least 20 recycled plastic bottles make up one Dock & Bay Beach Towel, so it’s a big plus for the environment. It is the towel for you if you’re conscious about reducing plastic waste and making sustainable shopping choices.
